Privacy Policy
Summary
EPUB Reader is designed for local-first reading. Your books and progress are stored in your browser on your device.
What Data Is Stored
- Book files you import
- Book metadata such as title and cover
- Reading progress (chapter, word index, preview page)
How Data Is Used
Data is used to provide app functionality such as opening books, restoring progress, and creating local backups.
EPUB Reader does not use ad trackers in the reading workflow and does not require an account to load books. Imported content is handled in-browser so your day-to-day reading remains on your device.
Data Sharing
EPUB Reader does not require account sign-in and does not upload your library as part of normal app usage.
If you use the contact form, message details are processed by our email form provider to deliver support requests. Reading data and local library files are not transmitted by the core reader interface.
Your Control
- Use Export Library to create a local backup
- Use Import Library to restore from backup
- Clear browser site data to remove saved books and progress
You can read more about app behavior in the FAQ. For privacy-related requests, use the Contact page.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy when storage behavior or support channels change. The latest published version on this page is the version currently in effect for the EPUB Reader website.
